Apple Let Loose event: Apple has confirmed that its ‘Let Loose’ event is set to be held on May 7 with a focusing on making iPad related announcements. Notably, the upcoming event is distinct from the WWDC programme (in June) which is expected to majorly focus on bringing software enhancements for iPhones, iPads, VisionOS and more.

Everything expected from ‘Let Loose’ event:

12.9 inch iPad Air:

Apple’s iPad Air lineup was last updated in 2022 with the company’s M1 chipset but the lineup could see some major changes this year including the addition of a 12.9 inch screen and a new processor. However, it isn’t yet clear if Apple will update the iPad Air series with older generation’s M2 chipset or the latest M3 processor.

Notably, this will be the first time that Apple will offer a 12.9 inch edition of an iPad Air allowing users to enjoy content on bigger screen without shelling out too much money.

iPad Pro with OLED display:

Apple could offer the OLED iPad variants in similar sizes as compared to the current generation tablets, including an 11.1-inch model and a 13.1-inch variant. Moreover, the Cupertino-based tech giant could roll out an OLED iPad, which could be as large as 15 inches, a report by Macrumors stated. Apple is also expected to upgrade the iPad Pro lineup with the top of the line M3 chipsets.

Meanwhile, a 9to5Mac report suggests that replacing the LCD panels with OLED ones will lead to a reduction in thickness and bezels. The 11 inch iPad could be 0.8 mm thinner while the larger iPad variant could be around 1.55 mm thinner. Moreover, there could be a reduction in bezel size by up to 15 percent.

An earlier report by Mark Gurnman had hinted that the company is preparing to hike the prices of iPad Pro models which currently start at a price of $799 while the 12.9 inch Pro variant costs $1,099.

Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil:

A report by Mark Gurnman from last year had suggested that Apple will also launch a revamped version of the Magic Keyboard alongside the iPad Pro variant. The accessory is expected to include a larger trackpad and have an aluminium finish, making it match the aesthetics of Mac.

Moreover, Apple is also expected to launch a new iteration of its Apple Pencil with support for ‘squeeze gesture’ and ‘find my network’.
