Schools/Colleges To Be Closed on Polling Day
Schools and colleges are often used as polling booths during elections due to their widespread presence in both urban and rural areas. Keeping schools closed on election day ensures that they are available for use as polling stations without disrupting regular academic activities. Additionally, closing schools helps to ensure the safety and security of students and staff during the election process, as polling activities can sometimes involve large crowds and increased security measures. This practice is aimed at facilitating smooth conduct of elections while minimising inconvenience to educational institutions and their stakeholders.
