NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are being held in 7 phases starting today, April 19 till June 1 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The Election Commission (EC) announced the poll schedule on March 16. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
The Lok Sabha consists of a total of 545 seats. Among these, elections will be held to occupy 543 seats.The remaining two seats are designated for representatives nominated by the President to ensure adequate representation of the Anglo-Indian Community. Additionally, out of the elective seats, 79 are earmarked for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 41 for Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Notably, in the state of Haryana, voting for all 10 seats will occur in a single phase, scheduled for the sixth phase on May 25.

Schools/Colleges To Be Closed on Polling Day
